1. Access the Parent Portal
2. Submit an Application
Once you've begun an application in the Parent Portal, click the option to add a new student or continue with your application. Simply fill in the fields with your child's information, select Minnesota Virtual Academy and click Submit.
3. Complete the Admissions Process
In this step, you’ll provide more detailed information about your student; upload necessary documentation, such as proof of residency and a birth certificate; and fulfill any additional requirements. For a list of specific documents that will be required, contact our enrollment advisors at 866.360.0159.
MNVA has some specific requirements that are important for you to note before you get started:
The Minnesota Department of Education Open Enrollment and/or Non-Resident Agreement forms will need to be completed as part of the Admissions process to ensure your student is approved for enrollment. Non-Resident Agreement Forms are required by some, but not all, Minnesota school districts. See the complete list of school districts that do not require Non-Residential Agreement forms as a condition of enrollment.

4. Next Steps
All families participate in a pre-approval telephone conversation with an enrollment consultant. This will help you identify documents you may need to complete, depending on your student’s situation.
5. Receive Official Approval
Upon successful completion of the enrollment process, your student will be approved. Please check your email for important information regarding your student's status and how to access the Online School platform.

We are now accepting applications for the 2019–2020 school year.
Schedule of 2019-2020 Cohort Start Dates
September 3 start: Last day for full-time K-12 (and PT K) approvals is August 27. Last day for part-time 9-12 approvals is Sept. 6
October 7 start: Last day for full-time K-12 (and PT K) approvals is September 30. No 9-12 part-time approvals accepted.
November 4 start: Last day for full-time K-12 (and PT K) approvals is October 28. No 9-12 part-time approvals accepted.
January 28 start: Last day for full-time K-12 (and PT K) approvals is January 21. Last day for part-time 9-12 approvals is January 31.
February 24 start: Last day for full-time K-12 (and PT K) approvals is February 17. No 9-12 part-time approvals accepted.
Please allow up to 48hours for processing enrollment documents, to ensure that all information meets sufficiency requirements for approval.
Students residing in Minnesota are eligible for enrollment. Please note that your kindergartener must be five years old by September 1 of the upcoming school year in order to enroll.
