Letter from our Online School Principals

Dear Parents,

We hope this message finds you well! We are excited to introduce you to Minnesota Virtual Academy (MNVA), an innovative online learning option within the Houston Public School District, serving students from Pre-K through 12th grade. At MNVA, we believe that children thrive when their education is personalized to match their individual learning styles and needs.

Our curriculum, provided by K12 Stride, is designed by educational experts to be both comprehensive and challenging. It lays a strong academic foundation while ensuring that all students meet Minnesota state standards. Our program combines live, interactive lessons—referred to as Class Connects—with independent study through our Online School platform. This blend provides a student-centered approach to learning that supports each student’s growth and success.

We are proud to be led by a dedicated team of Minnesota-licensed teachers committed to supporting your child through their educational journey. Our teachers work closely with families to monitor progress, maintain consistent attendance, and deliver expert instruction in each grade-level course. Additionally, we offer specialized support classes for students who need extra help in reading and math. For our high school students, MNVA offers College and Career Pathways, concurrent enrollment (college credit) options, and work-based learning experiences. Students are able to recover credits through our credit recovery options or our partnership with the Alternative Learning Program, which provides virtual options for those who qualify.

We are incredibly proud of the diverse accomplishments of our students. Whether earning national recognition in robotics or excelling in academic competitions like the geography bee, MNVA students shine bright. This success is made possible by the strong partnership between our parents, teachers, and staff, and we believe MNVA is an ideal choice for families who want to play an active role in their child’s education.
