New! Part-Time Middle School Classes Now Available  

At Minnesota Virtual Academy (MNVA), we believe that learning should fit each student’s needs—not the other way around. That’s why we’re excited to announce a brand-new option for the upcoming 2025–2026 school year: part-time online classes for middle school students! 

Starting this fall, students in grades 6–8 can enroll in one or more courses at MNVA while staying enrolled at their local brick-and-mortar school. It’s the best of both worlds: students can experience the flexibility and expanded learning opportunities that online education provides, while still enjoying the community and extracurriculars of their in-person school. 

Good news—enrollment is open now! Families can secure their spot for the 2025–2026 school year by enrolling today. 

How It Works 

• Flexible Course Load: 
  Students can take just one class—or a full schedule of up to six classes—depending on their needs and interests. 
• Live or On-Demand Learning: 
  Students have the option to join live virtual classes or watch class recordings later if their brick-and-mortar school schedule conflicts. Learning can happen when it fits best. 
• Wide Range of Courses: 
  Middle school students will have access to all classes that MNVA offers, including electives that may not be available in their local district. 
• Simple Enrollment Process: 
  Families can enroll now through the MNVA website. During enrollment, simply select “part-time” when prompted. 

What Families and Districts Should Know 

Students will receive grades and report cards from MNVA for the classes they complete. 

MNVA report cards will be separate from their brick-and-mortar school’s report cards.
